You might not realize this, but I occasionally watch the "American Chopper" series on Discovery Channel. Had flipped it on earlier today and caught this quote from Paul Teutul Sr. that really made me grin:
"If it ain't done now, it ain't done quick enough."
I began to think about what he said - and while it is true that the quote could almost be used by Concierge Professionals as a motto, I reflected on the value of taking a little extra time to do things right the first time.
Recently a friend of mine was applying for a job online and asked me to read over the cover letter they were going to e-mail. I read it over a couple of times, didn't catch any mistakes, and quite frankly was a bit impressed by the writing - and told them so. But before I could say anything else, they immediately hit the "send" button in their email program - only to come to the sudden realization that they had forgotten to attach their resume'...
This is why we at Concierge Professionals double-check everything. For our customers, we'd rather spend a little extra time to get it right the first time than waste time doing it twice.

Research & Logistics
Have an out-of-state client that rents seasonally here in Florida - researched & forwarded moving companies and references for them, located storage facility to meet their very specific requirements. Will additionally be handling the scheduling and likely supervising the move as well as soon as a moving company is selected. Will also be facilitating any forwarding of mail from their local PO boxes to the new location. Done, done, and done - and all my customer had to do was make a phone call.

Mary's Cleaning Tips: Vinegar
One of the services we provide is home, apartment, & construction cleaning. I picked this tip up because I have a client who has allergies and experiences discomfort in the presence of the odors and vapors created by most popular spray cleaners.
Vinegar is an excellent cleaning solvent that is inexpensive and can be used on a wide variety of surfaces. Because it is a mild organic acid, it is excellent at removing fingerprints and oils and leaves virtually no residue on glass and chromed surfaces. The vapor isn't harmful and to my experience doesn't trigger allergies. Additionally, if a mild abrasive is needed, a light dusting of the surface with baking soda before using a vinegar-dampened cloth cleans very well with foaming action and the only vapor produced is a minor amount of carbon dioxide.

Part of a typical day last week...
Got up early, went to the post office and picked up mail at a PO box for a client and delivered it to their location in Cocoa Beach. From there to another customer's apartment & provided construction cleaning services after a bathroom remodeling project. Stopped at a condominium unit to ensure that new stripping had been installed on the storm shutters for an out-of-state client who winters here in Florida. Later passed on information for a reputable credit card processing representative (John Mackor with Encore Payment Systems) to a couple of local businesses.
